Austin Kilaru, MD was featured in Penn Medicine News to discuss his team's project PATH: Practical Alternative to Hospitalization. The pilot program identified patients in the ED who were eligible to be discharged in order to receive specialized care and recover at home. Overall, the program was successful as the research team estimates that patients enrolled in the program avoided an additional 2 days spent in the hospital and only 4 of the 30 enrolled patients needed to return to the hospital within 30 days of discharge. Other CECPR researchers involved included Zachary Meisel, MD and Kehinde Oyekanmi.
