On August 19th, Jeanmarie Perrone, MD testified in Philadelphia's federal courthouse in U.S. v. Safehouse. The case will determine if the nonprofit Safehouse can open the country's first overdose prevention site, or safe injection site, here in Philadelphia. Safehouse would provide medical services including overdose reversals, medical supervision in consumption areas, and treatment and social service referrals to all participants.
